Expo 2 was Awesome! We went three days one an AMAZING adventure. The first day we walked from campus to the anglecy club and then we canoed to where we were sleeping. The next day was canoeing all day, we also had the tide and the wind against us the whole time. The third day was my favrioute because we got to walk up mount Raymond.
This expo I thought that our team worked really well together. We were all so encouraging to each other and supporting. The vibes were also really good we laughed pretty much the whole time. Mr. Dooley made a joke on the last night and Miss Scott thought that it was the funniest thing ever. We also played the laughing circle.
With my goal I thought that I could have worked a bit harder on it because I only thought that I had completed it on the last day. I could have been a lot more supportive to others and through out the whole expo. I hope that I can learn from this experience. I need to focus on my goal and try to achieve it.
This expo was so much fun we all got along so well and laughed a lot. We all defiantly had lighter packs so it made it a bit easier. I think that we all got along a lot better this time, because we all new each other straights, from the first expo.
Thank you to Mr. Dooley and Miss Scott for letting us be independent by letting us lead the way and figure out things for ourselves.
Today we started our three day expo adventure.
To start the day we finished packing and we left school at about 8:40am. We walked through zone four and over to spirit spot, up the big sandy hill with our packs on, and then we finally got to the beach. We walked along the beach for about 5 and a half kilometers. Though out that time he were singing and talking. On one of the stops Liesel and I really needed the toilet, so we climbed up the sand, and did our business. Mr. Dooley also asked us if we could see the river, so we went for a little walk to try and find it. I could see a little bit of it so that meant that the group would nearly be where we had to climb up the hill and to river. We walked another few meters, and then we came to our stop. When we got to the river we walk some more. Mr. Dooley showed us a fruit, (bush tucker). He didn't know the name so he calls it pigs face. He showed us the fruit and Tom and him tried some.
Tom said it was delicious. We never found another one to try. We then came into Marlo and walked along the bush until we came to the Anglesey club. We stopped and had lunch there. Lunch was raps. They were pretty good. We then loaded the canoes that had been left in the trailer for us. We put them into the water and canoed over to the camp site. The wind took us the whole way so we didn't have to do much paddling. Liesel and I were together we worked really well. We then reached the camp site. We set up and got changed. We walked down to the beach once everyone was set up, and did our revue of the day. Mr. Dooley then came up with the best idea to play food and water. I got very hot very fast because, I had my thermals on and my gortex and then my beanie. On the second round I jumped into the bush and somehow cut my knee. I do not know how because I had so many layers on. We then headed back to camp and had dinner. For dinner I had creamy risotto. It was all right. But it was not the best. We then did our teeth and went back down to the beach and played another game. I am not sure what it was called. But there is someone standing in a little circle with a ball. Everyone else hides and if you are found you are out. But the person "it" can only say your name when they are in the circle, and then everyone else has to try and get the ball from the circle before she says your name. With this game a group of us went to the top of the hill, and we yelled out 1,2,3, and we all ran. Catherine was it and she thought that I was Ben so she was saying his name, and I one because I got the ball. We then played again and I of course got hurt again. I was hiding behind some old plants, they were not very big, and Max. D was "it", and when I ran I forgot that there were plants there so I ran straight into them and face planted. I found it really funny. We then laid in the start for 1 minute, and watched the starts. I was beautiful. I saw a settle light and the moon was so bright.
Jess A and I shared a tent together. We had a great talk before we went to bed because we still had a lot of energy left. We then finally fell asleep.
Today we left the school at 8:30am, with our big hiking packs on (witch properly weighed more than me), and set of down the road to start our expo. We walked through the bushes and out onto the road, then we got to the beach and walked 15kms along the beach, until we stopped to have lunch, on some really pretty rocks. The hike was exhorting, I had bruise on my collar bones and my hips. But apart from that it was pretty fun. Once we had lunch we packed up and walked up and around cape Conrad until we came to our camp sight, were we sure 1B. We set up our tents and walk 100m down to the beach and sat a reflected on our day. When we were walking back to the tents we found a tick on Jess A, and it's head was in her arm. I was gross. Once we got back to camp we all help make nachos for an entire, they were delicious and then we made our dinners. I made dinner with Liesel and Mirella, we had carbonarra, it was so good. Mr. Dooley and Miss R dropped in after their surf to say hello and tried to eat our food. They asked if we were having fun and if it was hard. Once we had all eaten we got our thermals one and did our teeth and went to bed. During the night there were possum's everywhere. I had my pack done up really well but the possums somehow got into our tent and took my expo slice that I had not eaten any of and eaten it and done everything back up.
I thought our team worked really well together we all supported each other and made sure that we were all doing well. The team goal was to communicate efficiently, I thought we all did and really good job at that because we all spoke to each other and made sure we were all doing well.
Daily Reflection Challenge: The challenges I faced this weak would be one the expo. Because I found it hard to keep hiking none stop because I don’t see myself that strong and because we were walking through the sand I found it really hard.
I have had to show a lot of strengths and resilience this week by the expo because it was a tough expo walking thought] the sand with a very heavy bad on your back. But I thought that I did and really good job at staying positive and not letting that get in my way.
Goal One-Bridge Building
What is your goal? My Goal is to be more aware of social awareness of others.
Which F-10 Strand will this relate? To achieve this goal I will have to use my decision making, because I will have to act on what people say.
List three strategies for this goal:
List three pieces of evidence you will gather to present you completed this goal:
Explain how the evidence demonstrates the achievement of your goal?
The evidence that I have show's me that I have achieved my goal. I think I achieved my goal, because everyone got involved and we all had a part to what happened in the bridge. We all worked together well has a team and nobody was just one the sides.
Describe the success and challenges you had to achieve your goal?
The challenges in our team was that we could not get the bridge to do what we wanted it to do. The way we got around the problem was by coming back together and thinking about a new way around it.
Write a closing statement about the completion of your goal. How will you apply your new learning in the future?
I thought I did really well with my goal and that I achieved it. I will apply this skill my helping other's and making sure everyone is included.
