Quote of the Day: When was honey ever made with one bee in a hive? Goals: Morning Class: This morning class, we had a guest speaker come in, his name is Darren Mc Cubbin, We started the lesson talking about beliefs and values, he said some beliefs and values are role models, parents, friends, religion and philosophy. We were given a series of questions and we had to answer them with 1. is strongly disagree, 2 disagree, 3 neutral, he said if you were 3 you would burn in hell because you should be able to make your mind up, 4 agree and 5 strongly agree. Once we had answered our 6 questions, he read them and you had to stand were you thought your answer was. Then we had an argument on why people picked the numbers they did. Then we had morning tea, morning tea was yummy grapes and watermelon. After morning tea we spoke about how fairy tails have a meaning behind all of them, for example parents tell there kids that story so they don’t talk to strangers because they think that there grandma will get eaten. Then he told us a fairy tall he made up and then we had to choose who we thought were the best people to the worst once we had decided we had another argument on why we all thought this. Then we spoke about philosophical questions, the first one was there is a train with 100 people on board and it can't stop we have the control to turn it left or right if we turn it right we will hit 5 people but if we turn left then we only hit 1 person, I thought we should turn left because if you only hit the 1 person then only one person would die and there would be one family upset but if you went the other way you would have hit 5 people and then look after 5 family's. Once we had done a few of thoughts question we spoke about Mahala, and how she wanted to change the way only boys could get educated. Darren Mc Cubbin said that we are the next generation and we can change the world if we try hard enough and work for it. He said that "we all have our own values and beliefs and that determines your answer. For lunch we had Zuchini slice with salads, I thought it was really delicious, I really enjoyed it. Afternoon Class: For afternoon class we had my story. We had to right about ourselves. But first we had to draw us and what we like and what make us. Then we were given some different questions and we had to answer then in one note. Evening Class: For evening class last night we had Mr Johnston. We had the Snowy River Bushdance. We all had to wear are cowboy/girl outfits. The first dance was called 'breakmixer' and Izzy and I ran that one, we had to show everyone how to do it. Everyone got very confused. Daily Reflection Challenge: My proudest achievement for this week was finishing racking the bike tracks with Izzy and Ella, we racked all of zone 4. Also when I caught a wave and stood up the whole way to the beach. The leadership I have taken is running the Snowy bush dance with Izzy. I have taken all opportunity's that have come my way. 😊

Quote of the Day: What lies behind you and what lies in front of you is nothing compared to what lies within you. Spiritual Saturday: Today was our first rest day. You could wake up between 6:30am and 8:15. I of course woke up at 6:30am with Izzy and Ella. We went for a run around the track with a few other girls, and then Miss R took us onto the basketball courts and we did a round of 12 minutes, of doing a different core, leg or arm exercise we did 1 every minutes. We had her music blue toothed and it was so loud. I went surfing and had a blast it was so much fun! For evening class we went down to the sand dunes, and wrote in our journals our five senses. I can hear the waves crashing and bounding over the falls. The crickets in the bush, and the little bird calls. I can feel the sand beneath me, hard and soft. I feel the little mozzie's biting me. I feel calm and relaxed. I can feel the warm sun placed onto me and leaving my shadow forever. I can smell the fresh ocean, salty air, the clean crisp air around me. I can see the beautiful nature that has been placed here one by one sitting, standing, breathing and watching what is going on around it. I can see the sun raise beaming down onto me. I see a rainbow. There are different colors in the sand, the sky and the tress all around me. I taste the fresh air filling my lunges every breathe. I taste the salty ness of the sea breeze. Humans are like nature and nature are like humans. We are all different. You look at a tree and you will never see a tree that looks the same again. Same with people we are different and we are here for a reason. Date: 10/2/17
Quote of the Day: Life isn't about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself. Goals: Morning Class: Morning class was CLP 1, we started the lesson playing a game, the instructions were to sit in a big circle and the teacher was in the middle and they said" Things that float my boat is" and then you would say something that makes you happy or happy to see, and if you were to agree with what the person had said in the middle you would get up and find a new seat. Once that game was done we played the opposite to that and it was thing that makes you not happy or you think it is not right, and if you agreed you would move. Once all the game were done we split into our school groups and planed what we wanted to do for our CLP, Rosebud decided that we would re do the Tootgarook netball courts, and I thought it was a great idea. The way that we would fundraise for this is to have a BBQ at the Boneo market, hold a netball beach day, so instead of playing on the concrete you would get the chance to play on the beach. But we started to think about getting all the other netball clubs involved and see if they would help raise money. But we also need to raise some money so we can go talk to the council and ask them if they would allow it and if they would help. Our back up plan was to make some fitness stations along the beach for people instead of having to go and pay to work out at the gym they could be going for a run and then want to stop and use the community gym set. After we had our ideas we thought about how much it would cost to re do the netball courts and we found out the it would be a lot and then people stated saying, on no we should not do it now we would have to get so much money, but then I stood up and said if we work hard enough, we would be able to do it, it may take a while but we will still be able to. Even if we don’t get it done at least we had tried to fix the courts. For morning tea we had 3 salads each with either tomatoes, cheese or spreads, I had one with tomatoes and salt and pepper and the other 2 I had vegemite. Afternoon Class: For afternoon class we had intro to weebly. Weebly is our website or blog. We can put photos, daily posts and also what we have done in different classes. To start off we spoke about what a weebly account is, some people said the it is something easy to navigate, colorful, inviting, not to many small words, or too much on a page because you don’t want to read 5 pages of something on a blog. Once we spoke about wat we thought and weebly account was we singed in, it took me while a while to sign in, I had a few troubles. But once in we had to choose a theme and create it how we wanted. I thought that my looks really nice and it is set out well. For afternoon tea we had ice cream cake in a cone because it was ben's birthday. Evening Class: For evening class we were split into 2 again. 1 group went outside and did meditation and the ones that were inside which was me to start off we did survey monkey, were it was a survey getting to know you. We went outside we did some meditation and I got bitten my a really sharp bug I felt like a needle. Daily Reflection Challenge: I think Maddie has done well remembering and describing what she has done with her day. Also she is very good at standing up for what she thinks is right. The work she has done so far has been very good quality. Date: 09/02/17
Quote of the Day: Talent wins games but teamwork and intelligent wins championships. Goals: Morning Class: In morning class I had decision making and actions. We learnt about ethics and you never know what road you might end up going down. We were split into two groups and we had Mrs Francies and we were talking about, shop lifting, we were given a small square of paper with some details on it that said something about a random person and you had to figure out if they were a shop lifter or not, I decided that the person I had did shoplift , they were 9 years old and he loved video games and his mum was in a different shop to him. So I thought that he had taken a video game and not realizing what he was doing. After that the 2 classes came back together and we watched a video on Steve Jobs and how he grow up and how he went to university but he dropped out because he thought it was too expensive for his parents so he dropped into classes that he liked and slept on the floor of friends rooms, he also a one meal a week from a church down the road where he used to live, and from watching that film I learnt that the path you set for yourself now can change and sometimes mean a good thing when it changes but sometimes you can go down the wrong road but you can always find away over the hill. Then we split back into the same groups and spoke bout stupid things that you can do that can end with a very bad ending, for example Mrs Francies, spoke about pee presser and trying different ways to not fall into the trap, but she did say that you can grow up with the nicest family and have the nicest people around you and still end up in a bad position. For example she told us about a man that was driving home drunk and ran a red light and hit the man in the other car and he got his license taken off him and also went to jail but the other guy was a part of his own death even though the other man hit him he was not meant to be driving because he had his license taken off him and he still was driving. For morning tea we had biscuits, cheese, kobarner and watermelon. Afternoon Class: For lunch we had nachos and they were so good. For afternoon class we missed the first little bit because we got to go down to the snowy river and have a swim. We were gone for about half an hour. The sand in the water was really slimy and squishy, but it was so much fun. When we came back from the beach we had self-awareness and management. To start of the class we talked about different emotions and how to tell different ones. We also learnt how to control them and that sometimes you can't always tell how someone is feeling, it sometimes depends on how well you know them or how they come off to you, even the way the come off to you they could look happy, but really feel sad inside. Then we got into groups and did a spit on two different emotions, my group had anger and not sure(questioning) for our skit we had to act out that we were in a doctors room with a small child and a mother, I was the mother Tom and the doctor and Jess was the child, we had to pretend that Jess had the measles and that we had to acted angry, and then we had to do the other one and think of a calmer way to approached Jess the child. Once the skits were over we spoke more about emotions and how to distract yourself from them. For afternoon tea we had zooper doopers and fruit. Evening Class: For evening class last night we played food and water were you had to hid from someone who was standing on the basketball court had then they yell out food and water and you have to run and tap their hands and then hid again and the countdown slowly went down. Then we came inside and we decided what committee's we wanted to be one, I choose sports and music committee. Daily Reflection Challenge: The good thing that happened this week was meeting new people. My highlights have been going to the river and bikes because we got to go outside. Also Bridie and I ran through that sprinkler before afternoon tea. I am really thankful for:

Quote of the Day: "Many hands make light work. Goals: Morning Class: This morning 1A had intro to bikes, with Mr Dooley. First of we had to check ABC which stands for Air, so check the air in the wheels, Brakes, stands for B were you have to check if your brakes work properly and C stands for chain, so we had to check if our chains were moving smoothly. Once we checked if our bikes were working we needed our bright vest, bike gloves and helmet. Then we went for a test run around the walking track twice, then came back together and did some excursuses, the first one was where Mr Dooley put about 7 cone about 1 mitre apart and then a box at the end, and we had to weave through the cones and then go inside the box and we timed then and I got 16 seconds. After we had to ride down the hill but there is a twist, there were 3 line the first line was the starting line, so you start at the first line and then when you get to the second line you have to roll down the hill and right near the end you have to try and brake without skidding. Then we went for a ride in zone 3 it was a bit over groan so we had to clear it out and we went through that about 3 time, then we went through zone 4 once because it was nice and clear, but one the way out half of us were down the bottom and were waiting for 3 more to come when we heard a high pitched scream and we all new that is was Liesel straight away, and so the 3 of then come out and there Liesel is with a bite on her leg and it was 2 bites so it looked like a snake bite so we were all panicking, but once she got her breathe back she said it was only a big bug that had bit her not a snake. Once we had put stingoes and a bandage on her we went for a ride down the drive way a practiced single file and double file. Afternoon Class: Afternoon class was Questions and possibilities. We spoke about how there are lots of different questions, there are closed question were you ask a question and they can only give you a short sentence answer, and then there are opened questions were you can ask questions that make the person think about it and give a more detailed answer. Then we did celebrity heads and we spoke about ourselves for one minute. Where you just had to talk about where you came from and your family and a bit about yourself. Evening Class: On Tuesdays evening class we had to make a safety talk and present it to the campus. My group got sun smart and we spoke about how to be sun smart, by doing slip, on a shirt, slop, on sunscreen, slap, on a hat seek and slide, on some sunglasses. Daily Reflection Challenge: The challenges I have faced this week is homesick and trying to get used to what is happening and why I choose to come here. I have been homesick because I have a very strong relationship with my family and I have never been away from them for so long, so I miss them and it is hard because I am always with them. The steps I have tried to take to overcome these challenges is to try and distracted myself and be busy all the time, but it is very hard because I am still trying to settle in. Jess and Liesel have tried to help me take my mind off my family and try and keep me busy, and I so grateful for their help. They come for walks with me, they also taught me how to play a really fun card game called split which is really funny to play. I have had to try and show a lot of resilience and strength this week by trying to distracted myself from my thoughts of my family and try and bounce back from crying. ☺😓😟 Date: 07/02/17
Quote of the Day: You don't have to be great to start but you have to start to be great. Goals: For morning class I had metacognition in the south class room. We learnt how our brains worked and all the different parts. We then made juggling balls and learnt how to juggle. The reason we did juggling was because it helps our brain have a work out. Metacognition was really fun because I got to learn about my parts of my brain and how I work. Evening Class: The evening class was pretty relaxed we played a get to know you came called dizzy Izzy, you had to make up an adjective that rimes with your name for example my one was magical Madison. Quote of the Day: Snowflakes are nature's most fragile things. But look at what they all can do if they stick TOGETHER. Goals: Morning Class: In morning class 1A got together and separated into school groups and Mr. Dooley took us to the start of the girls wing and we drew on a piece of paper, what was in our minds, I said family, friends, pets, going outside and nervous. After Mr. Dooley laid some cards on the floor and we had to choose how we were feeling, I said anxious. Then we spoke about why we felt like this, I felt anxious because I did not know what I was up for and I was in a new environment. Then we played Players and spies which was where we had to recreate a structure as a team although each one of us was given a role ( either a player or a spy). Players tried to finish the building while spies tried to sabotage the players work. After the 20 minutes of building time was up it, was revealed that there were no spies and that is was a game to test out teamwork and trusting abilities even after we doubted each other. Afternoon Class: The afternoon class was all about practicing all of the qualities and strengths we had decided that team needed to work on while we played/solved small and fun challenges outside in the rain. These were the 'holy' pipe/ping pong ball challenges, the crocodile (Pablo) challenges two planet challenges and the Olympic qualifying hula hoop challenges. During the night class we were introduced to DEARR and we meditated for a minutes reflection out the day and write a letter to ourselves. |
